Ruth T Collins
August 26, 1925 - September 28, 2025
Ruth Thieme Collins went to her eternal reward September 28, 2025. She was 100 years old and had lived a full and gracious life. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elizabeth Collins, her siblings and their spouses, two nephews and a spouse, and a great great nephew.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and their spouses, great nieces and nephews and their families.
Ruth's career was spent at SunTrust Bank (now known as Truist). She retired and enjoyed traveling with her sisters, volunteering at her St. Paul's Lutheran Church, working in her yard, reading, knitting and doing craft projects. One of her greatest joys was to walk, which she continued until just a few months before her death. She lived her later years at Buckingham South surrounded by their caring and helpful staff. Here she added bead work and bingo to her activities.
Her nieces and nephews have fond memories of her at the beach and visiting during numerous family gatherings. Her family was very important to her and the nieces and nephew loved spending time with her throughout her life. She could be feisty and stubborn but showed her good heart just as easily. She will be greatly missed by all.
Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 3, 2025 at Bonaventure Cemetery.

When I worked at what began as the Liberty National Bank and Trust and later became SunTrust (now Truist) I had the pleasure and enjoyment of working with many good and memorable people. Ruth was at the forefront and absolutely wonderful-always efficient, smiling and pleasant. In short, an everyday joy!

The thing I remember most about Ruth was her smile. Her smile spoke a thousand words. She was a wonderful person to work with, and I know she'll be greatly missed. What a legacy she leaves behind awesome friends and devoted family.
